Making a Will
Making a Will gives you peace of mind and protects the people and things that matter to you. We'll help you set out exactly what you want to happen to your money, possessions, and property when you die. It's the first step in planning your legacy with our experienced Private Wealth & Succession team.
Choose who looks after your children
Your Will lets you name the people you trust to care for your children if you're no longer here. Without it, the courts decide. We'll help you make a plan that puts their care and security first.
Set out your funeral wishes
You can use your Will to express your preferences for your funeral. Whether you want something simple, personal or specific, we’ll make sure your wishes are clearly recorded.
Leave gifts to people and charities
Whether it’s a cash sum, a sentimental item or support for a cause close to your heart, your Will lets you leave gifts that reflect your values and your relationships.
Decide who inherits your estate
If you don’t have a Will, your estate is divided by strict legal rules that don’t always reflect modern families. We’ll help you choose how everything you leave is shared, fairly and clearly.
Plan for Inheritance Tax
With the right structure, your Will can help reduce Inheritance Tax. We'll advise you on how best to use tax-free allowances and protect more of your estate for the people you care about.
Support blended families
If you or your partner have children from previous relationships, we’ll help you strike the right balance. We can structure your Will so everyone you love is protected, fairly.
Thinking ahead
A Will sets out what should happen to your estate after your death, but your executors may also need to obtain Probate before they can administer your estate. We can advise on both Wills and Probate, helping to ensure your affairs are dealt with efficiently and in accordance with your wishes.
