Matthew Hutchinson

Matthew Hutchinson is a Partner in our Real Estate team and has been with the firm since 2016. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and became a Partner in 2018.

His broad commercial property experience includes advising on development projects, sales and acquisitions, and landlord and tenant matters. Known for a calm, pragmatic style, Matt is recognised in The Legal 500 for "strong communication skills and clear-headed advice".

As head of our Energy team, he supports developers, landowners and investors with renewable and low-carbon projects, from large-scale solar and battery storage to innovative behind-the-meter schemes such as carport solar installations.

Matt also co-leads our Real Estate Finance team. Acting for both lenders and borrowers, he helps clients structure and complete deals with confidence. Recent transactions include securing funding for a 150-unit student accommodation scheme and advising on the refinance of a substantial industrial portfolio.
